How does Invisalign work?
Invisalign follows a set process whereby the client is provided with a set of aligners that gradually shift and adjust the position of their teeth in line with their goals.
An initial scan and mould is made of the teeth, with a series of follow-up aligners designed to follow the progress of the teeth as they move into a straighter position. Over time, the client will be instructed by their dentist to switch to the next aligner, ensuring that the teeth keep moving and are not left in a single position for too long.
The process will depend on the severity of your malocclusion at the start but will generally take up to a year. Aligners must be worn for 22 hours each day, and thoroughly cleaned on a regular basis.
